1) The resolution was to end the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) that was started with the install of an update to the exchange server. Once the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) was stopped/disabled external emails were being received.
OR
2) Please check whether your IP is set as relay denied.
